Dennis Norton

Dennis is a senior technology professional with more than twenty five years of experience leading IT and other business services in manufacturing and service industries.  He is known for developing strong strategic and functional relationships across organizations and leading business process improvement projects.

Most recently, Dennis led IT application support, facilities services, and marketing support services for a global food manufacturer.  He led teams comprised of marketing, sales, research & development, finance, and operations to drive organizational and process changes.

Dennis specializes in assisting organizations maximize their investment in Microsoft SharePoint for collaboration and process improvement.  Projects included:


  • Implementation of Integrated Business Planning (IBP) (Advanced Sales and Operations Planning) process which consists of a monthly consensus operating plan for product, demand, supply, strategic projects and resulting financial plans.  Used SharePoint for Action Registers, Calendars, Issue Documents and document archives. 
  • Stage and gate product development process with key performance metrics.   Process used SharePoint-based extension to CRM system for collecting on-time and on-budget delivery information.
  • Environmental compliance program to support storm water and air pollution requirements.  Record-keeping and task-management process built on SharePoint.
  • SharePoint-based process for handling customer product complaints.  Improved visibility, shortened response time, and enabled analysis and corrective actions to reduce future issues.

Dennis earned a BS degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA both from University of Memphis.  He has served on the boards of several volunteer organizations including Society for Information Management.
